Job Title: Senior Associate, Business Development

Location : Mumbai, India

Business Development, Corporate Markets (Industry Agnostic)

The role of the Business Development Associate is to accelerate sales to expand the firm’s user base and offerings within companies across corporate markets in India & South Asia. The candidate will focus on identifying, qualifying, and closing new revenue opportunities as well as work on contract renewals, optimizing client experience, gaining market share, and pursuing excellence in close collaboration with a team of GLG servicing team professionals. This candidate will also have an opportunity to work with senior leaders across both the internal organization and within their clients, including developing partnerships with SVPs, EVPs and CXOs of large operating companies.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Leverage professional network to build new relationships at operating companies and engage at a granular level with industry executives on topics of critical importance to their businesses.
  • Collaborate with senior BD team members in securing enterprise-level agreements for both existing clients and new business opportunities.
  • Identify and engage with senior industry leaders within the Corporate segment to develop new relationships and grow existing business relationships
  • Identify growth opportunities, build & execute acquisition targets, plans, and realize objectives by helping GLG become a preferred go to partner for clients.
  • Set roadmap for overall book of business and at the account level.
  • Ensure overall client user satisfaction with GLG services and collaborate with servicing team to implement adjustments in servicing model when necessary
    • Develop sales collateral and . Support the wider Corporate markets - Sales team with the production of promotional materials, especially around GLG’s new product offerings.
    • Work creatively and collaboratively with internal colleagues- marketing, compliance, legal, finance, technology to deliver solutions to solve complex overall client business issues.
    • Work closely with GLG project teams to support execution and delivery of research projects, providing guidance and support as needed
    • Collaborate with GLG's research teams to target new areas of opportunity and further develop the GLG's service product offering

Key performance metrics

  • Major performance criteria would be expanding penetration of existing clients and monetization of work plus onboarding of clients, monetization of accounts on-boarded, and adoption of new products and systems across existing and new accounts.
  • Drive and build a new business pipeline in the India Corporate segment.

Required skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to make consultative enterprise-level sales to corporate clients (technology, industrial, BFSI, CPG, etc), as well as to develop, build and execute account plans by coordinating resources across multiple client service teams.
  • Proficiency to articulate the value of primary research and GLG’s proposition to large and small audiences alike.
  • Impeccable attention to detail, ideally in a high-volume and fast paced environment.
  • Clear track record of excellence in several categories, including teamwork, professionalism, communication, organization, and client service. Successful candidates will naturally align to and demonstrate GLG’s core values of courage, integrity, curiosity, and judgement

Preferred experience and qualifications include:

3 to 5 years of experience as an individual contributor in business development function (selling consultative product and services to Corporate across Industries)

AI Solutions puts GLG's expert network to work on AI training data and expert evaluations for frontier labs. Our aim is to lead the top of the market: high-stakes professional domains.

You are the GM's partner in the market and share one revenue target. The GM runs the commercial side of each deal. You run the technical side: the relationship with the researcher, the quality and measurement discussion, and the design of the program. You are also a hunter, building pipeline through the research community.

What you'll own

  • Researcher relationships. Build direct relationships with researchers, post-training teams and eval leads before there is an RFP. Bring back what labs are buying and where current vendors fall short.
  • Source opportunities through those relationships and in the field: events, conferences and dinners where researchers spend time.
  • Technical discovery. Find which capability a lab is trying to improve. Use GLG experts to surface where a model fails in a domain and turn that finding into a pilot.
  • Program design. Define the task, rubric, output format and difficulty target so the work measures what the lab cares about.
  • Panel design. Decide with the Strategic Project Lead who qualifies for the expert panel and how it is calibrated. You own it together and sign off with each other.
  • Quality methodology. Own the QA conversation and the math behind it: gold sets, agreement metrics, sampling and acceptance thresholds. Go head-to-head with researchers on it.
  • Pilot to program. Set the success criteria for each pilot and help convert it into a production contract.
  • Write the technical sections of bids and build reusable materials so every sale is easier than the last.
  • Credibility strategy. Decide with the GM and Delivery which benchmarks, evals and other proof GLG needs to win its domains.
