Dr. Tim Marple

Tim Marple builds the measurement systems that make AI risk legible to decision-makers. At OpenAI, he served as a lead analyst in Intelligence and Investigations, where he built and scaled the company's first applied frontier risk assessment program and developed the team's first fully automated intelligence analysis workflow, cutting more than 75 percent of the time across its intelligence pipeline. At Google, as lead quantitative modeler in Trust and Safety Intelligence, he built the company's first quantitative risk measurement system spanning all Google products, saving more than $2 million in operating costs and increasing intelligence intake capacity by over 50 percent. He also ran the team's geopolitical risk portfolio, including scenario planning on state-led misinformation and kinetic conflict risk. He now advises investors and deployers on how AI risk becomes measurable and material. He co-leads the OWASP AI Vulnerability Scoring System (AIVSS), an open-source standard for measuring agentic AI vulnerabilities, serves on the editorial board of Business and Politics, and is a Visiting Professor at INSEAD, teaching global politics and market strategy in Fontainebleau and Singapore.
